GRAPHALLOY® High Temperature Bearings & Bushings

High temperature environments are difficult for many bearing types. Plastic bushings soften or melt, and the grease/oil lubrication in rolling element bearings or metal bushings carbonize, leading to bearing failure and equipment downtime. In these tough conditions, self-lubricating Graphalloy bearings can be the solution.

The GRAPHALLOY bushing material is a graphite-metal alloy– the graphite provides the self-lubricating quality and the metal gives it enhanced wear resistance. This means no external lubrication is necessary and maintenance-free operation can be expected.

GRAPHALLOY High Temperature Bearings are ideally suited to applications where temperatures are extreme. GRAPHALLOY bearings

  • Will not soften at high temperatures
  • Will not extrude under load
  • Will not seize due to lubrication failure
  • Many grades are suitable for temperatures to 750°F (400°C) in air
  • Special grades provide service up to 1000°F (535°C) and higher in non-oxidizing atmospheres

GRAPHALLOY bearings can be used in bakery and industrial ovens, glass plants, conveyors, dryers, kilns, kiln cars, stokers, soot blowers, oil guns, gypsum board and veneer dryers, and more.
